Hi there ladies,

my ds just turned 11 months. I gradually stopped bf and started with formula. Im giving him a bottle in the morning when he wakes up then one about 3pm and evening one. Am I right? Should I be dropping a feed when he turns one? How did/do you do it? Thanks for any response.

Well, glad you asked this! ds is 11 1/2 mths and still has 3 bfs a day- early morning/ 1.30/ bedtime. I'm aiming to wean him onto cow's milk when he turns a year (not that 2wks makes a huge difference, but somehow I need to stick to the letter!) and I was womdering about dropping the lunchtime feed, as he doesn't seem to bother on the odd occasion he misses it. I THINK it depends how well they are eating (ds is a hungry Horace, and wolfs yoghurts, cheese etc), so if they are getting calcium from other sources you don't need to worry too much- I think...but probably someone else will know beter than me!
