Do supportive nursing bras actually exist?

I've bought Hot Milk ones and a Freya one, and they're both fairly crap. I'm a 34FF/G, so I need something to stop them ending up at ankle level!

Failing that, didn't someone link once to some clips you could sew onto a normal bra to make it a nursing bra?

Please save me from the doom of saggy boobs!

The Anita underwired one ?

Otherwise, I think you can buy the clips on Ebay

You have seen this thread, no?

YES, YES, YES! I have finally managed to get one to fit my 32K boobs - from Royce - John Lewis online stock them. They are now up high and pointy rather than down south and saggy!

Don't buy non nursing bras and put the clips on, they hang funny (believe me I've tried many types!)

Icanseethesea · 27/10/2008 14:00

John Lewis - I had to do a 200 mile round trip to buy nursing bras... but it was worth it.

No shipping charges online either!

TinkerBellesMum · 27/10/2008 14:09

I've worn Bravissimo ones from the start (I was 34H need a new fitting) and have always found them comfortable, supportive and I don't have the mono look either. I never buy a new bra without getting fitted at the same time unless it was really recently.

luvaduck · 27/10/2008 14:28

you are probably wearing the wrong size if its not supportive

by the look of you in the photo i bet you are smaller than a 34

i went to bravissimo recently and got remeasured. i was wearing (freya bra) 34 F and now i'm wearing 30GG. def much better.
really recommend them.

iMum · 27/10/2008 14:31

I went to rigby and pellar in Bluewater and got fitted, am now in a 36G-very comfy too

notcitrus · 27/10/2008 19:21

I ordered off M&S online as their maternity bras were so comfortable (and couldn't get to a shop), but the nursing bras were useless. Eventually went complete with baby to John Lewis, got assessed and got Royce bras (38F like the M&S ones, but so much better - I refused to take it off!)

Still not hugely supportive - but my breasts inflate and deflate with milk so much nothing is going to fit that well I guess.

luvaduck · 28/10/2008 00:14

its all about the fit ladies, honest

get thee to bravissimo, they'll prob make you a 34 GG or H notcitrus but will fit so much better

notcitrus · 28/10/2008 14:24

luvaduck - plan to get to Bravissimo soon!

BigBadMouseInHauntedHouse · 28/10/2008 14:41

twentynine - OOoohhhh I could hug you! My damn bf bras are so appallingly unsupportive that I am actually embarrassed to go out in them .

I'm a 30K and cannot find anything in my size that does a decent job - am off to johnlewis online ASAP.

hopefully · 28/10/2008 17:45

Thanks for the suggestions - think I'll order a load from all of those retailers and send back the worst ones!

I was a 32D pre-pregnancy, and I suppose feasibly I'll be a 32 again now my ribs have gone back into place... Will order a couple of different sizes and see.

LOL at bigbadmouse!

DeJaVousdoo · 28/10/2008 19:10

I've never found a supportive nursing bra in my size. I just get really well fitting normal under wired bras and adapt them with these kits.

The result is great and you can actually wear bras you like too

TinkerBellesMum · 28/10/2008 19:55

If your chest has gone down but not your boobs you will be in a 32G/H.

DeJaVousdoo what size are you then?

elvisgirl · 28/10/2008 23:23

Try bras4mums.co.uk as they do a great telephone fitting service & you can return/send back til you've got something decent.
I am really annoyed with Hot Milk as it's lovely stuff but makes my DP expect I can look like that & then it's not even in my size - not that I would look anything like that even if it did fit me!

twentynine · 28/10/2008 23:25

LOL Bigbadmouse -you can't hug me, my norks stick out too far to get close enough

skyatnight · 28/10/2008 23:37

Goddess nursing bras from amplebosom.com are supportive and come in large sizes. They are not at all sexy but what nursing bra is, especially when you have large norks.
