Around the aerola (sp?) on both norks, where it meets my skin 'proper', is really really itchy... and I've now got some red marks which aren't spots but are almost like cuts and they really itch too. Feeding going fine, DD 6 mo, but this is driving me crazy. Think I'll go to the GP, but does anyone have any idea as to what this might be?

thrush?

Lubyloo · 26/10/2008 20:01

Could be eczema.

Could be dermatitis/eczema. The little almost cuts sound familiar, I have eczema and get those when I scratch too much. It's like damage to the skin underneath the top layer I think. Also I've read that breasts can be itchy when bfing due to extra bloodflow in the breast. Not sure if that only happens in the early days though. I sympathise though, my breasts look like a road map atm!

Lawks, I hope it's not thrush...
Eczema, it's a possibility, but there are no other signs (no rough skin or peeling etc) like the eczema I had as a child.

Whatever it is, it's v minging and makes me feel extremely undesirable.
