i am bf 11 week old ds. Next week i have a friends wedding and id like to have a drink. i wouldnt have more than 6 halves larger so just wondering when i can feed ds after that? i will need to express when i get home as usually feed him in night so im guessing id chuck that?
Will he be able to feed at 8am if i have a last drink about 1am?

The alcohol does pass through your milk in small amounts. I would say you were okay with half of that but that's six units you are talking about. Shandy?

alcohol leaves bm at about the same rate as it leaves your blood

so feeding when actually drunk means there'll be some alcohol in the milk

but next morning will be fine

personally I'd go easy - if you haven't drunk much for 9m while pg you may find your tolerance is lower than you expect!

I would say that he would be OK as alcohol metabolises from your milk at the same rate as from your bloodstream. If you are OK to drive, then you are OK to BF.

I beleive it takes one hour for a unit of alcohol to leave the blood so six/seven hours after the last drink you'd be absolutely fine. Have fun!

drink straight after feeding then wait til next feed? i had several glasses of champagne at a wedding on sat but just stopped when i felt a bit tipsy
