Sounds like it could be thrush.

misdee · 06/03/2005 20:38

You may have to see your GP first.

blueteddy · 06/03/2005 20:45

Saying that, you could try the chemist first & see if they can prescribe you something over the counter.

I'll go to the GP first...and also few babies have white tongue...like milky...

sometimes...they clean it off....

when my dd had thrush in her mouth it was very thick almost yellowy

eidsvold · 06/03/2005 22:37

when dd and I had thrush her tongue was white but it was lumpy like cottage cheese. I did take her to the GP and they gave her some drops. The GP suggested I get some daktarin oral gel and put it on my nipples after each feed to stop reinfection. It really did work quite quickly BUT then I think we had a good dose as she was unsettled and it was tow curling agony to feed her.

hope that helps.
