Question for mixed feeders

Does your baby seem as satisfied and content after a b/f as they do after formula?

I give DD a top-up bottle at 12 noon, 6 PM and 9 PM.

I know that formula keeps them fuller for longer as is harder to digest, but b/m doesn't seem to keep DD full at all. I feel like I'm just stringing her along until her next bottle and she still only goes about half an hour between breastfeeds unless asleep.

(she's 9 weeks, I know this is still young but I was hoping things might have improved a bit.)

We give DD a formula top-up at 11pm after EBM. Have not given top-ups after other feedings so I can't offer any advice. It's certainly less effort to drink from a bottle and maybe your DD needs encouragement to stay on the breast for longer? Perhaps she's going through a growth spurt? If you always top-up, then I think the breasts don't know to produce more milk. I find that always starting a feed on the last side I finished on helps up the supply. HTH even a little.

Thanks mooki, DD needs no encouragement to stay on the breast - she is rarerly away from it. Usually feeds for at least 30 mins from each side.

We are in a vicious circle I think but b/feeding does not seem t satisfy her at all.
