Hungry or waking through habit.

DS is 13 weeks old and always wakes between 3 and 4 am for what we think is a feed but in reallity he doesn't take that much. He'll take half a feed of 3 oz as he's usually on 6 oz per feed.

Without letting him get upset and scream the place down what's the best way to find out if he is waking through habit or is a bit hungry? At 11 pm he will usually take a full feed but at some feeds during the day he won't take a full feed at all and leave some.

Any thoughts.

agree wtih ruby. he still needs night feeds. and won;t take the same amount at each feed. babies are like that sometimes i want a big mug of tea, other times a dainty cup will be enough !

i would always assume waking for hunger at this age.. and certainly for a while longer yet

11 - 3 or 4 is a good stretch at night for a wee one.
