Weaning a 10 1/2 month - refusing bottles/formula

Although our DD would no doubt love to continue BF forever I want to stop by 1 year so tried this morning to swop one feed to formula. I might as well have been offering her poison - managed to get the teat into her mouth ONCE and she writhed and choked. Then probably did totally the wrong thing and bf her.
I'm using Aptamil forward and Avent bottles.

DD is also waking 3-5 times a night - teething and a cold - but she's never slept through for more than 1 night at a time.

I'm sooo tired. 2 other children need a non-ratty mother! Imopossible for someone else to give her a bottle since only me at home during the day.

Any thoughts??

Kat - talk this through on one of the bf lines. They can give you options for gentle weaning off the breast, and will discuss the use of a cup (babies of this age don't need bottles, truly).

Went to a bf support group today - focusing on the night feeding first with controlled crying and then looking at weaning. Feel much more positive about it. Thanks
