Ah bless DD just fed to sleep

She hasn't done it for months now. She usually feeds then has a cuddle until she falls asleep. Tonight I looked down and she was all nestled in fast asleep but still feeding. She must be exhausted. I'd forgotten how wonderful it felt to bring so much peace to a little one through feeding. Pointless post really but it made me happy.

DD still does that at two if she gets the chance!

Ooohhh i miss that DD2 gave up on her own about 5 weeks ago (she was 2 in August) I so wasn't ready for that as she is my last lo!!

Aah, that's lovely - as they get older those moments are so precious

I so miss feeding.

It was lovely she was all floppy just like when she fed to sleep when she was tiny. It reminded me that even though she's all mobile and independent these days, she's still my baby and still needs me.

Not a pointless post at all - it's really important to celebrate this sort of thing! I know what you mean - dd3 still does this quite often (she is 17 mths) and I love it. I indulge myself with a lovely cuddle when she's finished as well.

charchargabor · 29/09/2008 20:35

I did too NL. Lovely and snuggly and warm, just what I needed on a night like tonight.

I remember the days of wishing DS would feed to sleep because then at least he'd be asleep ... then he insisted on feeding to sleep and that was pretty infuriating ... now it's just a lovely chilled bedtime feed and like your DD, he doesn't normally nod off. The times he does fall asleep are heavenly, it makes me want to be mum to a tot forever and ever.

Your post made me happy too

Ooh just what i needed to read. I do this every night (DD six months) and was beginning to wonder if it would cause problems later.
But now I'm just going to enjoy it

charchargabor · 29/09/2008 20:40

Yes definitely enjoy it MadameOvary! It's wonderful and will go so so quickly. Before you know it she'll be running away when you want a cuddle and you'll be cherishing those moments. Glad I made everyone happy

Don't worry - I used to wonder that about dd3 but it doesn't seem to have been a problem. She can put herself asleep and goes back off if she wakes in the night. I think she likes drifting off with me sometimes. I've been at work, she's been at nursery and it's our special time.
