im down to the night time b/f only but for sum reason my right boob . is rilly hurting and i carnt even touch it . with out wanting to cry . now im having pains in my chest and my nippel is so sore to it feels like i have . had my boob run over . thats how bad it is . and my ds is 1 and i have not had this trouble b4 any one . out there with any advice and yes i have tried to exspress and feed him on it . even tho im criying at the time

Do you think it could be a blocked duct? When that happened to me, I was advised on here to stand under shower and hand express and that worked?

Thrush or mastitis? You struck a chord with the comment about your boob feeling like it had been run over because that's how mine felt when i had thrush. Sorry I'm not an expert at all but I'm sure someone will be along later to advice. Just wanted to give you some support.

I was going to say ring your GP first thing tomorrow but of course, it's Saturday.

ive tried the hot bath but still hurts . it started thismorning . but i had it 2 weeks a go and it just went . but would have grabed any baby to feed on it lol lol . and when ds didnt want it i was even tempted to ask dh hahaha incase there was a block try harder with thrush would i have some discharge to or not ill get it checked . 2 morro i have a out of hours doc i can see

or u will hear in the paper lol . about a crazy lady who wanted to feed all the new babys in the meternty unit ha ha pmsl . just to get rid of the pain lol

kee don't laugh my DP was always happy to help when I had blocked ducts/mastitis

worth a try to try to get some relief tonight ?

It does sound like thrush, I had that feeling of run over! too. Has he got any whiteness inside his cheeks?

no nothing but he dont rilly want to feed from this side happy with the left one tho

Have your boob out for half an hour and alternate resting a warm flannel on it and massaging it downwards with the palm of your hand, if its a blocked duct this should releive the pain.

If that still doesnt help, I think its probably thrush.

no but its very tender see last time i had thi i just kept feeding ds on it and 2 days later it went that was about 2 weeks a go . but for sum reason it has come bk right flannel on hope this helps

Can I ask, if you have thrush on your nipple, will there be white spots, my nipples are so sore they feel like they have frost bite,or like they have been scalded with boiling water,and thats when i 'm not feeding when i feed it brings tears to my eyes, and feels like my nipples are being bitten by needle sharp teeth everything hurts even wearing my feeding bras, there are no white spots,they just look bright red/pink and almost shiny, my DS is 6 wks old and they had been sore when he was first born but they settled, in the last few days they have flared up worse than ever, i probably sound silly, but thats the only way i can describe the pain

Leenie - shiny nipples is one of the symptoms of thrush

owwww sorry only just cum on line went docs monday they said it was mastites ouchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh but thank god it feels so much better now thanks so much every one for ur help x x x x
