is BF and won't take a bottle of watered down milk? He desperately wants to feed, that makes more mucous...he vomits...wants food...His cough is horrible but getting looser. He just had fruit and rice (quite sloppy) and threw that up. Argh. He was up every hour last night as was starving. HELP!

Can he drink water?

Just to clarify, d you mean breastfed or bottlefed? If breastfed then don't give him anything but breast, it's the best thing for a poorly baby.

Oh mate - we went through this at the beginning of the year, although ds was older then (12/13 months or so).

I just kept offering the breast. He'll be keeping something down - keep your eyes open for dehydration and speak to NHS Direct or take him to the GP if you're worried but I wouldn't worry about trying to make him drink watered down milk or water.

Big sympathy.

Breastfed. Am hoping that he may keep this feed down. Fingers crossed.

use saline solution for nose, once that is keeping it open it will be a bit easier.
