how often should a baby feed for?

seems like i'm feeding dd3 every hr. she feeds for a good 30-45mins, then 1hr later wants more. am feeling like a milk machine.

growth spurt? dummy needed?

was thinking of dummy, but think its too soon. she was only born on monday. she is definatly latched on correctly, as can feel the milk going, and the pressure reduces. she is bei8ng weighed later today, so am wondering how much she has gained/lost. (dd2 gained the 1st week)

nope its not .. sorry .. but it will get easier over the next few weeks .. can you sleep with her in the bed so you get minimum impact when she needs a feed?

I remember we did a lot of "reading and feeding" at this stage with DS1 and 2. DS1 really liked that, all three of us cuddled up in a bed.

kama, we are talking about a baby less than a week old.....asking a baby this age to wait for feediing, or bathing to distract her, or walking out with her , or trying to get her to sleep at night......it's too soon to start trying all of that with a baby who is behaving normally, after all. I do agree with your point about taking it all a day at a time
