I would just like to say that I am doing my best and don not feel like a breastfeeding failure

I planned to exclusively breastfeed DD for 6 months but unfortunately had to give her formula top-ups as she lost a lot of weight.

She is nearly 6 weeks and is still mix fed but although things haven't worked out exactly how I'd planned I realised today that I have breastfed her over 300 times and that that is an achievement in itself.

Maybe we will manage to get back to exclusive breastfeeding and maybe we won't but instead of feeling disappointed from now on I will know that I am doing my best.

That's all I wanted to say

I am still struggling after 9 weeks.. and still mixing F and B... every day I think I will give up BFing... but have seen some signs of progress (the problem is definitely a poor latch, but I've tried 2 consultants, every book there is about BFing and a DVD... and still have creased and sore nipples)... so now I take every day as it comes. I still feel guilty though

Hi Mandy
You might be best to start a new thread in this topic (assuming you're a newbie, apologies if wrong)
You will get a lot of good advice from MN if you want it but your post might get a bit lost on another thread

Thanks Stealth
I've started another thread as well as coming in on the end of this one

Chipmonkey & Pinkminky
Thanks for the encouragement, I'll keep trying.
Mandy, I'll have a look for your other thread, I know how you feel about the guilt thing...
