Tips for surviving the 4 month growth spurt

Help, I'm exhausted!! My 20 week dd who is bf and used to feed 3 hourly through the day, nap well through the day and sleep for 10 hours at night is now doing none of these.

She is feeding constantly, hardly sleeping through the day, needing at least 3 feeds through the night and is quite grumpy. I'm at the end of my tether. I assume that this is the horrendous 4 month growth spurt but need some tips on how to survive it. How long will it last? Is there any light at the end of the tunnel?

Exactly the same JessFoz, this is absolute hell, I have only had 3 nights so far, really hope it doesn't continue long

I think I mentioned this before but eating porridge helps my milk supply. Don't know why but with both my babies a good big bowl full of the stuff has been really useful and given me loads of milk. Maybe it's quite dense in calories or something. It sounds odd I know.

Hi my baby is 17 weeks and he wakes up every 2-3 hours everynight
i started baby rice and i wake up only 3 times a might whic is a blessing for me. Weaning was asvised by the paeditritian as he s got reflux and poor weight gain. He had carrots today and he loved it.

Hiya! My baby was waking once in 12 hours till he hit 16 weeks. He started waking every 2 hours. Its only just started getting better (he's now 6 months) over the past few nights he's only woken twice.

I think with the growth spurt he became a light sleeper, our room over looks the street and everything was waking him for food, but since moving him into his own room a few nights ago, he's sleeping much better! Also he was in a travel cot in our room and he's got a nice big cot in his.

I say its getting better but he did just wake up at half 10 tonight where he's been going 8 till after 12 but I think that was from thumping his legs on the cot.

That was very rambly. I blame the sleep deprivation. I hope it gets better for all of us soon.

16 week old DD with sometimes hourly wake ups still at night - where do I sign up for the 4 month growth spurt? Only waking 3x a night sounds great to me. Sorry not a helpful comment but you got lucky and used to the 10 hours a night!
