What effect did/does breast feeding have on your weight?

I swear the best way for the World Health Organisation to promote breast feeding is to totally sell to women the wieght loss benefits of BF.
I BF both DSs and was in my normal clothes within just a few weeks.
I was always hungrey, ate like a horse but was still very slim.
You just have to remember to cut down on the food once your done with BF.
Pre babies I averaged a size 12 - 14, mostly 14. I'm 6ft tall.
Post babies I average a size 10 and my family critize that I'm not looking after myself but I swear I totally credit it to the BF.

I am nearly into month 10 of breastfeeding and have recently noticed that I have lost half a stone in the last few weeks (I lost very quickly after DS was born, but then put some on a few months in).

I can't understand why I have lost half a stone in the last month when I am actually breastfeeding less now? Any ideas?

i do have to admit to eating ALL the pies whilst BF, just so hungry all the time, and am feeding someone who was 10lb 10oz at birth and hasn't stopped growing. I just find i can't control my food whilst BF, i also think the exhaustion has a lot to do with it. Tiredness = reach for cake. Oh and i had horrific morning sickness as well and didn't lose weight as only thing i could eat was jelly beans.
Once i finish BF i hope to finally drop the weight - will also be back at work so can exercise during lunchbreak etc.

Didn't lose weight breastfeeding DS1 as I ate too much cake while feeding him. I'm being really good this time round, DS2 is nearly 10 weeks and I'm almost pre-pregnancy weight (put on 2.5 stone while pregnant). I think you can lose weight quickly when breastfeeding but you have to eat healthily too (boo)
