First Tandem Nursing Session

Came home from the hospital yesterday with newborn 10lbs 1oz DS !!!

DD has been very loving towards him calling him 'her baby' and wants to hold and kiss him all the time...awww bless

I have been nursing them seperately but this morning, DD climbed onto my lap whilst I was already nursing DS.

She snuggled down on my lap so her head was on the nursing pillow in the underarm rugby hold position, just like he was already.

So I had one tiny newborn head on one side and a massive toddler head on the other side. DD stroked his head gently whilst they both nursed.

My heart just melted

thats really lovely

BabiesEverywhere · 12/08/2008 12:56

He is scrummy and he smells divine. All I can do is deeply inhale his soft dark hair and the nape of his little chubby neck and the soft cheek....

Am contemplating it for next pg, (currently feeding 15mth old) but not sure how it works.

OOOhh that is beautiful

CantSleepWontSleep · 12/08/2008 17:22

liahgen - both children get colostrum then newborn milk etc. There's a support thread in pregnancy for those of us who are pregnant and still nursing if you have any more questions .

Lovely BE .

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 12/08/2008 17:24

Beautiful

charchargabor · 12/08/2008 17:25

That is gorgeous, and so is he I am so

TinkerBellesMum · 12/08/2008 18:16

Doesn't it make you wonder why some people can't imagine doing it? Obviously only had the one, but it's the best feeling in the world!

How is she taking to sharing her milk? (Tink says she's not sharing lol)

BabiesEverywhere · 12/08/2008 18:23

DD did say she wasn't going to share before he arrived. But as 'he' is 'her baby' she doesn't mind too much.

The only 'problem' is she wants milk every time he nurses, I am happy to be semi-flexible but am trying to keep her to her regular feeds and feed him on his own the rest of the time. Especially as we are still working on his latch.

That's something I'm wondering with Tink, will she realise milk is on tap

Bless at her baby!
