HELP!!!! Advice needed on stopping breastfeeding

My two year old son is still breastfeeding and i desperately need advice on how to wean him off. i am nearly six months pregnant and would like a little break from breastfeeding before the new baby comes along. The health visitor assured my that me DS would stop feeding when i was 4-5 months pregnant as the taste would change but this hasn't hapened. I feel terrible if i just refuse him completely and wondered if anyone had any advice to offer as to how to stop him.

hi, my Ds weaned himself when i was 6 montsh pg, but it doesnt always happen. i guess your son doesnt mind the change of taste

i can understand why you might want to stop now, but i'm not sure how realistic it is to get him to stop in the next few weeks - it might take a little longer. if you cant wean in such a short time, woudl you be Ok with trying tandem feeding?

Hi, thanks for your reply. Would tandem feed not too much of a problem for me am just hoping it would not make my DS feel pushed out in any way seeing the baby being fed more than him and taking priority over him. He is generally only taking breastmilk once a day so not a major problem would just have liked a break in between but not the end of the world if it doesn't happen. Thanks again x

my dd is two and am 6 weeks pregnant, I just feel so hungry and sick during feed am weaning off- starting tonight!!! We have gone for adjusting routine to assist so bath, cup of milk, lots of books, brush teeth, into bed, sung to.
When i was in room she shouted for 'booboosh' her term for bf, I lay down next to bed to encourage her to lie down...but had to leave room and let dh continue, she cried out once as he later left the room then fell asleep. It is important to note that I tried to really tire her out before starting and actually started a little later as figure drinking from a cup so much quicker than lazy bf.
Have you got extra support??
I don't blame you for wanting a break, your body is feeding three people!!! well done fore getting so far, good luck!!
