I currently have a six-month old DD. We would like to try and conceive again around December/ January.

If I want to do this, when would you recommend giving up bf?

The timing of the pregnancy is important because I've been told it's very likely I'll be ill again this pregnancy (I had hyperemesis) and we'll have a lot of help around then.

I'm very attached to bf and don't feel ready to give up YET at all.

I actually concieved DD while still breastfeeding DS, once your period returns you may not need to give up BF to concieve, but may be easier to stop BF your DD before DC2 arived!!

Thanks Glaskham. That's what I'm thinking. Especially if I get hyperemesis.
