BF'ing and Hayfever?

Anyone know if I can take anything for hayfever while breastfeeding. DD is 16 months and I only do 2 feeds a day if that makes a difference.

Thanks

Breastfeeding Network factsheet

Basically, you can use eyedrops and nasal sprays with no problem. You can also take the older (causing drowsiness) antihistamines. As per the BfN factsheet, there's no theoretical reason you can't take some of the newer (non-drowsy) formulations as well, but that's a matter of personal choice.

Personally, the first year I was breastfeeding I stuck to eyedrops and nasal spray, but since then (this is my fourth consecutive summer breastfeeding) I've used cetirizine as I'm happy there's no evidence of ill-effects.

Thanks P&L, I'll go get some eye drops and nasal spray. It's funny, last summer I didn't get hayfever at all and my hayfever only started this year when dd weaned herself down to 2 feeds a day.

Cheers
