Sore spot inside nipple!

Son72 · 12/07/2008 21:16

I have been feeding for 9 weeks. For the last 5 weeks one nipple (which is inverted) is very sore. When my baby sucks on the nipple to bring it out I can see a small red hole?? about the size of the end of a matchstick which I think is the casuse of the discomfort. Has anyone any advise as to how to heal this sore?

Many thanks

Ohh, that sounds so painful. Some nipple shields can help, they sell them in boots. What have you put on it?

Hi, I've have used shields and am trying to do without also my baby doesn't always latch when they are on. I'm also using Calendula cream to help heal however yesterday I started a course of anti-b's which I hope will sort things out finally!
