Anyone used gripe water?

My DS (4 weeks old) gets really bad wind - he's as good as gold and doesn't scream the place down he just wriggles and squirms and grunts and groans. He looks in so much discomfort and as much as dh and me try and try to help him get it out we're often not successful.

We've tried infacol with limited success but have been recommended gripe water.

Has anyone else used it? Does it work? How long can we use it for?

Any advice gratefully received cos it breaks my heart seeing my little man so uncomfortable.

@spongebrainbigpants hi, I know this has been forever ago but I have the exact same thing with my 8 weeks old son! He groans and squirms, sometimes this will stop him from finishing the bottle and it generally stops him from sleeping in the cot too.. any advice now that you’re past it? What worked for you? Thanks xx

Hey, I'm doing the same thing that you done and looking for some answers but the posts all seem to be from quite a long time ago lol!

My baby is 8 weeks old and sounds exactly like the 2 baby's mentioned in this thread. I know he is very very windy and will fart a lot but it never seems to be enough and he will grunt and groan and squirm a lot as well as doing a lot of squeezing! Did gripe water work for you? Is there anything that you can recommend? He also has reflux which we are in process of managing

Hello,

I’m a new mum and new to this site. I came across this site when trying to search for all kind of symptoms my newborn baby is having. Due to having severe anxiety over my baby I am panicking over the littlest thing. My baby has been pooing every 3 days since the past few weeks however I have been reassured by the doctor that this is normal and it’s just my baby’s routine. Now since the past few days my baby is crying a lot, not finishing her bottle. Towards the last bit of milk she starts to cry like she doesn’t want it anymore and when I move the bottle away she wants it again then I give the bottle back and after a few seconds of sucking she starts to cry again and moves away from the bottle. She’s moving a lot like she’s in discomfort even when sleeping.

Also I wanted ask all the mums out there.. sorry if this is a silly question but I worry over everything. I wanted to ask, is it normal to gag/choke whilst the baby is drinking. My baby choked today and it scared the life out of me.

Also is it normal for baby’s to cough/choke sometimes whilst sleeping.

Any sort of reassurance will be so much appreciated. With the anxiety I have right now, I keep looking for answers just to know weather what my baby is going through is common baby issues or something else.

Thank you
