You have to be a subscriber to read it in full though -sorry.

I'd be interested to hear views on it.

Basic message is that formula manufacturers would LOVE to be able to emulate all of the many complex ingredients in BM but they just can't. Some discussion of trials of different components (with NO discussion of ethics of those trials) and lots of Profs professing.

But lots of good listed features of BM and some good science.

Also some quite good messages about breastfeeding (made safer) actually being a better solution in poor countries for women with HIV than formula...

And apparently endocannabinoids in breastmilk give babies the munchies! that's probably worth a whole separate thread actually isn't it?!

I know, but they are, um, scientists. They are only qualified usually in telling us the bleeding obvious. But it's always good to have science at your back, no?

Good article...but breastfeeding is more than the milk, and the relationship aspects of it would never be replicated anyway!
