When to start using breast pump?

DS is only 6 days old so am still concentrating on getting my supply established at the moment, but thinking ahead to fitting pumping into the daily routine when it already includes a newborn and a 3.7 yr old...

When did you start expressing?

Congratulations on arrival of son!

I started expressing with electric pump at @ 2 weeks to increase supply however than gave up due to poor yield and the demands of DSs aged 4+5 years. DS3 had to increase his own supply and to my astonishment I have become a dab hand at BFing with baby in sling... who'd've thought..

I have been told though that it makes more sense to try and express after 6-8 weeks when supply more established, so you may be better waiting a bit. I might give it another go when school/nursery start again.

Good luck!
