Hello. I am going out tonight for the first time without DD. I am thinking of drinking.

How long can't I breastfeed for once I have been drinking? She usually has formula in the night,, usually only one 4oz bottle though. If I am not going to be able to breastfeed for a while, I will express some BM.

I wont drink if it is going to interfere too much with my DD, as its not fair on here.

DH is on babysitting duty tonight for the first time, and has offered to do nightfeeds tomorrow and get up with DD (we will see if he is still feeling so nice at 5.30 am when DD wants to play!!!

If she has formula in the night i think you will be ok to feed tomorrow morning.

really, that would be great, as it wouldnt even effect her. I might not leave till 1am and my DD gets up by 6. Is this still ok? Maybe her should give her one bottle in the morning, and then I will BF from then on?

You can feed straight away.
Alcohol goes into the breast milk at roughly the same rate as into the bloodstream, so leaves it at the same sort of rate, approx a unit an hour, but even with small bits of alcohol in your breast milk it wouldn't affect baby, you'd need to get absolutely slaughtered very quickly and feed baby straight away to get it to affect her in even the smallest way.

I went out for the night and expressed feeds before I went. I had enough for the next morning too so I chucked what I expressed in the morning.

Could you not give extra formula just for in morning and express off and throw the BM?

Just an idea, but I suppose it depends how much you have to drink.

Have a good night, you deserve it!

Don't throw away the BM!! That's a waste, it's a bottle the baby could have instead of the formula for the night feed.

Honestly there is nothing wrong with drinking and BFing.
Let me find tiktoks wise words somewhere.

Thank you! Feel a bit better about it now. \i will get DH to give her a bottle in the night, and then depending on what time I get in/she wakes up, he might need to give her one in the morning as well, but thats fine. I dont mind her having one extra bottle, just didnt want her to end up having loads.
