Vitamins

Does exc. BF DS need vitamins at 6 months?
I do plan to start weaning at 6 months so he won't be exc. BF then, but understand this won't add any nutritional value to his diet (maybe just the walls ).

If he does, where does one get them?

If anyone should take vitamins, it should be you. DS will get everything he needs from your milk.

There is a debate as to whether vits are needed. If your lo is dark skinned or doesn't see much sunshine then there may be a need for extra vitamin D.

If you do decide to give them most chemists/large supermarkets sell baby vits. You can also get them free if you are on a low income (ask HV).

Thanks mumofmoo. DS isn't dark and we both see as much sun as possible in GB as in if the weather is dry we're out for at least an hour a day.

I read in my 'Birth to 5' book he should have them, but also read BM gives them all they need !

Maybe I should just take some!
