Hi

Was given an advent one which then broke and this was good however as was using tommie tipee bottles bought their pump and find that the end of my nipple gets sore almost like its hitting the end of the pump (sorry tmi), I am going to buy a new one thinking of the advent one that remembers your pumping (can't remember what its called) - anyway which do you recommend or which should I avoid????

cheers

I get on well with the Ameda Lactaline Personal: pumping comfortable, you can double pump and fairly quick.

I still do not like it though...

I like my medela electric one

Another MN-er kindly gave it to me

The Lactaline is great, and can be picked up on Ebay easily - its electric. I used mine 5 days a week for a year, so it got a lot of use and never went wrong.

I have the Avent Isis IQ Uno which is the one you're talking about, I think, nik76. I find it very good and very quiet for an electric pump. I also have the Duo version in the attic. It will come down when I go back to work and need to pump quickly. It's also an excellent pump but very expensive so probably only worth it for expressing at work etc.

thanks everyone

I'm exclusively pumping, tried the Ameda lactaline and it broke (got it on ebay so it was secondhand). I'd recommend the Medela swing which has been my lifesaver and so far so good! I've just bought a second one off ebay so I can pump both boobs at once

Joolyjoolyjoo · 02/07/2008 23:22

I second the medela swing! Although I used the medela mini previously and found it ok too. I could never get on with manual pumps! With my electric one I can sit typing/ reading/ watching tv and pump at the same time. But the swing is a bit quieter (DH used to go mad if I was pumping while he was trying to watch something on tv!)

Glad to hear so many votes for th electric ones - was thinking about getting one if it was worth thr extra money.

Only used two, Avent Isis which I found to be worse than useless and the Ameda Lactaline which is brilliant. You can always hire an electric one through the NCT is you want to try before you buy.
