Ive only just started using it, and ive noticed when I shake it, it creates lots of foam/bubbles, then if u dont shake it enough it looks really powdery!
Can this cause LO any harm? And am I doing anything wrong?

Sorry if this sounds like im being thick, but didnt have this prob when bfeeding!!

We've used it since I stopped bf ds at 3 months and not had any probs. The bubbles are fine, if you shake any liquid enough you get bubbles! And like you say, if you don't shake it enough the powder doesn't dissolve properly.

You're not doing anything wrong, don't worry!

Me too, i've used it since my 9mo dd was born. She had colic so I didn't shake it as didn't want to create more air or bubbles so just stirred it well. Like you say, a little powdery but absolutely fine.

I don't know what sort of bottles you are using, but with some (like Avent), the bubbliness (which I think you get with all milks) is better if, after you have put the bottle together, shaken and taken lid off, you unscrew the cap bit, and then tighten it up again, I guess it lets a bit of air out.

It also helps if the water is definately warm enough (ie over 70 degrees), as you won't have to shake too much.

If your lo does have a problem with windiness, then you can get bottles (like Dr Browns) which have a valve, to stop the bubbles being swallowed.
