Advice needed on weight gain in 8 week old please!

Hi. My 8 week old DD has gone from the 50th percentile to the 91st in weight in 8 weeks!! I'm basically breast feeding but do give a 3-5 oz bottle of formula instead of a breast feed every other day so she gets used to a bottle. Does anyone have any experience of rapid weight gain and know whether it is a problem? I'm now wondering if the formula could be partly to blame (though it is a replacement feed not an additional one). Have this irrational feeling something is not quite right despite the fact that compared to my DS she seems a very contented baby.....Any thoughts gratefully received!

My dd started on 50th and seemed to go up everytime I weighed her, she settled just below 91st, she is now 8months and still there. I wouldn't worry, cant imagine a bottle every other day will affect her tbh, you obviously have gold top milk congratulations!

How about expressing and giving her a bottle of expressed milk instead of formula? I don't think it's anything to worry about, she is probably quite inactive at the moment and when she gets older and more and more active she will use up more calories.

Just got red book, my dd's weight went up the chart until 14 weeks then continued to be between 75th and 91st, then shot up again at week 28 but I think that was a poor reading because she was figiting so much, not been back since because the HV upset me on that visit!

Thanks! She does sleep a lot to be fair so I guess she's not burning much off. Was wondering if it was in anyway related to me having gestational diabetes ...... or perhaps my breastmilk is affected by amount of chocolate I'm eating!!! Not sure why I keep having nagging doubts about her, hubbie reckons its because I can't give her all the attention I want as running after mad 2 yr old....

DH sounds sensible! What does your HV say? I would go to GP to set your mind to rest, but I'm sure she is fine

HV said I was giving her a good start ..... but that we didn't want her to go up any further throught the percentiles. Saw GP at 8 week check. She said to get her weighed every 2 weeks, but said she was also very long and looked fine. Think I am probably worrying over nothing....just need to get a grip. Thanks for reassurance x
