Replacement of breastmilk??

I've been breast feeding for ten months and am looking to stop at around one year as I want to get pregnant again and so far nothing is happening. Want a samll gap between my kids as I want to stay at home for a few years to look after them and we won't be able to afford for me to do this if I don't get pregnant again soon. Really need my periods to return so that I can start judging ovulation etc.
Question: If you get to one year do you need to replace breast milk with something else - eg: cows milk, or do you just stop giving them so much milk etc. Totally in the dark about this as no else I know is still breast feeding. What do i do once I stop breast feeding?

At 1 yo DD was getting only 2-3 bfeeds a day and cow's milk (or not) in between. I think you could maybe try gradually dropping the day feeds and substituting with milk or even water (DD wasnt a huge fan of milk at that age).
