DD is now 17 months old and her eating journey has been a slow and bumpy one. She’s always been specific about what she will or won’t eat such as never taking to formula so has been exclusively breastfed. Never accepting expressed milk, it has always had to be direct from the source. We started the weaning journey at 5 months (had to start slightly earlier due to a dairy intolerance) and she rejected food for the longest time!!
she finally started showing an interest and actually eating food from around 14 months but it’s often small amounts (but slowly improving). She’s actually excited at meal times now and I have tried different types of food to try and get her adjusting to different flavours, textures etc. She absolutely hates anything wet or of a non solid consistency so nothing like porridge or even if it’s something more solid, it can’t be in sauce etc. Basically she loves pasta, anything of potato variety, rice, sometimes the smallest amount of meat, sweetcorn or cucumber…and did I say PASTA!
Now that I’ve given the long background! My question is, I always provide a balanced meal (meat, carbs, veg but I just find that most of the times all she’s really eating is the carb part so should I be concerned or has anybody had a similar start to their LO food journey which just naturally improved with time?
