Aptamil Pepti 1 - CMPA

My baby is coming up for 6 weeks and has now been prescribed aptamil pepti 1 due to having many symptoms linked to CMPA.

I just wondered when people started noticing a difference? He has been on the formula for two days. I know it can take up to 4 weeks for all the cows milk to be out of his system but he is still quite unsettled after feeds e.g. crying in pain and drawing up his legs, straining like he needs to go to the toilet like he’s constipated.
I wondered if this would still be happening? I know some people have seen big improvements after a couple of days.

I breastfed and found once I cut dairy out it was a few days.

That formula is hydrolysed isn't it? If so it still contains dairy. A lot of babies still react to it. It sounds like you need a completely dairy free formula.

My DD had CMPA and even when gp first prescribed milk she didn’t change, I’d go back and get a different prescription. I think it took about 3 different milks before we found one that worked and I can say the difference was literally within a day or two

is he actually constipated too? If so, the doc can give you something for that. If it’s wind, rub his tummy or look up baby massage on YouTube.
