Sorry to be bombarding you with info but I found that Extract of Grapefruit Seed worked for me (I took it orally for thrush in ducts but you could use externally for nipples). You can buy in liquid form as Citricidal from health food shops.

Adding to what Place said, I find that women often start questionning their abilities when they settle into bfing and stop being so engorged. This does not mean that mlk production has slowed, merely that it is becoming more efficient and reactive so that 'empty' feeling (still milk in there though!) is a sign that you are getting better at bfing not worse!!

LOL at nipple reduction - I have opposite problem so could you send me some of your excess nipple then?

I do think second babies get a rough deal eh? My second had to learn feed in 5 mins flat - no luxury of long feeds like DD1 had.

I do hope your thrush clears up soon and you can carry on bfing and also give your DS1 some more time. This time next week it could all be going swimmingly.

I don't know really but I just never had time for all the long indulgent feeds that I had with DD1....all babies are different though. DD2 only cluster fed for a few weeks and then went to bed at 8pm...DD1 was a nightmare in the evening for months.

Glad to hear you had a nice feed - do you offer the second boob when he's had one? What about trying to boost your supply with fenugreek (think that's right!) - it does seem to work.

I was never overly milky you know, never leaked a single drop and only ever get a bit engorged on a night away from kids (still bfing DD2 at 27 months)- maybe your boobs are just acting differently this time?

Oh it sounds like a shitty situation you're in. Let us know how you get on tomorrow though.

FWIW I mix fed first time and stopped bfing at 8 months and still regretted it after. At some point though it will be right for you to stop and you mustn't feel guilty at all. I have never got on with expressing so I do sympathise.

What do you think has changed to make your supply suffer this time around? Is his latch not great maybe? Maybe it's him and not you IYSWIM?

Have you had him checked for tongue tie at all - just popped into my mind and can't remember if you mentioned it. This would make bottle feeding much easier for him and would explain alot. My nephew had it and after the snip at 2 weeks old was like a different baby.
