8 week old feeding less over 48 hours, normal or GP?

Hey! Any help would be appreciated!

My 8 week old baby has started to feed less as of yesterday. She originally had 60-80ml per feed averaging around 9-10 feeds daily. As of yesterday she’s now only having around 40-60ml per feed and around 7-8 feeds a day.

She is still having around 8-10 wet nappies a day and 1 or more dirty nappies a day, with her dirty nappies being the same consistency as usual. She doesn’t appear constipated or in any discomfort when feeding (shes not screaming, arching her back etc)

She has always been tough to burp and seems to pass wind through trumping more than burping.

She will spit up during feeds but has only ever really been sick a couple of times, both of them wasn’t over the last 48 hours.

At birth she was 8lb 1oz, it dropped to 7lb 13oz and then went up to 9lb 3oz and now 9lb 13oz (the two 9lb weights being measured within 2 weeks of eachother)

The health visitors say she’s on the 50th percentile and has dropped a percentile only slightly on her weight but have no concerns and this was only yesterday, but her feeding has since changed and it’s worried me.

Also worth mentioning she fed quite a lot a few days prior to this - not taking in a great deal more but more than her usual averages for around 2-3 days.

She has her jabs also today which is adding to my worry incase she goes further off her food.

Could this just be part of a developmental growth? Should I try switching formula and is it worth speaking to the GP at this early stage before I’ve tried anything and given it’s only been 48 hours and all her nappies are ok?

Incase it’s relevant she’s on SMA 1 milk out of a MAM bottle as that’s the only one she’d take too. We’ve recently swapped the teats to a size 2 also as with MAM from 2 months it’s a size 2 teat.

When DS was that age his feeds did vary, I was never concerned as he still had wet nappies and dirty nappies as per his usual pattern. As long as she is gaining weight and is happy in herself I wouldn’t worry too much. DS did drink less per feed but wanted feeds more often with his jabs for a couple of days and then he was back to normal. Also if he had a growth spurt he would want feeds more often and then it would reduce dramatically once the spurt was over.

Nothing you said here gives me cause for concern, she sounds like she’s just naturally reducing her intake slightly.
