Can 5 week old get all they need from a 10 min BF?

Just that really. My 5 week old has started having feeds that are as short as 10 mins. My boob does feel softer afterwards, for what it’s worth… and he seems satisfied. It just feels really short in comparison to the hour(+) mammoth feeds he was doing when he was first born!!! Is a 10 min feed too short to class as a feed? Or might this be ok? Thank you

Absolutely fine and normal for it to settle down. He will tell you if he’s not happy. As you go on, sometimes you might do longer feeds and sometimes they might be even shorter. Congratulations on your lovely five week old 🥰

If their general demeanour and things like wet / soiled nappies are the same, and they're gaining weight as expected I wouldn't worry. As pp said, they fluctuate and baby will tell you if they're hungry.

Mine never fed for longer than 10-15 mins. As long as he seems satisfied afterwards and is making lots of wet and dirty nappies he should be fine
