Anyone found Rapid Cool feeds worsened bringing up milk or reflux?

Hi all,
just wondering if anyone can give advice or shed any light on this issue.
currently using rapid cool for 5 month old feeds. I have got a prep machine but haven’t used it because flasks are so convenient. For passed couple of weeks DS have been bringing up a lot of milk.
dr prescribed thickener but I haven’t given it to him because he’s not in pain but I fear thickener will make him constipated. I asked for baby gaviscon because I do think he’s got silent reflux but dr didn’t want to give me it right away.

anyways I’m thinking that using the rapid cool for every feed might not be the best idea. Anyone else experienced this?

As long as you are using it correctly, cleaning it correctly, not using it too close together, ensuring your hot shot is the right temp etc, there is no reason that the rapid cool would be causing sickness.

I’m following the instructions which say put the formula in the flask, add boiling water and then shake. There’s no hot shot per se which I was used to doing with prep machine with my first.

Hiya, I use the rapid cool for every feed. Most of the time just to cool what I've measured in the bottle first. no issues noticed

its hard to see the lines inside the flask isn't it.
are you putting powder in first ?

Yes. Then measuring water in bottle. I think there’s a possibility I’m sterilising it properly. How do you sterilise yours?

Instructions say to put water in first , then add powder. That's what I used to do.

I never sterilise it, just wash well every time after use .

Yes me too but apparently you’re suppose to sterilise.

If the formula is going into the rapid cool then you definitely do need to sterilise it.

We have a Milton cold water steriliser for all the bottles and the Nuby flask, can throw everything in together.

Yes you are supposed to. My baby is now 7 months so I think I'm a bit less vigilant- I occasionally pour boiling water in to it and give it a good shake , then leave it for a bit .

you can get a special UV sterilising lid I believe ?
