I finally BF in public

It was this wonderful woman in Sick Kids Hospital that did it (not the one with the small baby I wrote about in other post). She just got on with it and was sitting across from DP and I. So cool. She even chatted with us about him being distracted while he was feeding.
So I did it too. Feeling well chuffed.

Woo, well done! Soon you'll be feeding on the bus, in Starbuckis, in church... The world is your oyster!

Nice one bearmama!

BetteNoire · 21/06/2008 00:03

Well done.
As sushi says, you'll be BF everywhere now.

bearmama · 21/06/2008 00:09

Weird thing is it was sort of easier than at home where I have been faffing about with cushions (so much so that I got a nursing chair from Gumtree). I just lifted up my top and did it.

congratulations! You should feel chuffed. Wishing you many more confidence-building moments.

Well done!

Congratulations.
The first time I did it I was with other new mums, so it seemed completely natural. One of them later said to me, that the sight of us all feeding together, had made it much easier for her to do it in public.
Until then she had been feeding her DD in disabled toilets and had even thought that it was illegal to do it in public.
I did it everywhere after that, as encouragement to other new mums, and also because DD could scream her head off if not fed right there and then!!

onepieceoflollipop · 21/06/2008 12:50

That's great.

Yay bearmama The 1st time with ds was in hospital when he was 10 days old and havng an ultrasound scan..it was either feed him or let him wail in the packed waiting room. So I did, and you're right it was much easier than at home! (Ignoring some funny looks from old grannies-screw 'em )

Since then I've found it much easier to feed in public this time round, instead of scuttling off to dirty toilets around the country like I did with dd.

Well done!

lackaDAISYcal · 21/06/2008 13:19

Well Done

...the first time is always the worst; then you realise no-one gives a fig, and even if they do they can take a run and jump for all you care.

onebatmother · 21/06/2008 13:20

Bloody well done. It's easy-peasy from now on.

EllieKat · 21/06/2008 14:32

Yay! Well done! Life'll get so much easier for you now. Before you know it, you'll have BF in all sorts of different places and it'll be second nature!

I remember finding the first time I did it in public without all the other NCT mamas was a really big hump to get over, and I consider myself fairly brazen!

RhinestoneCowgirl · 21/06/2008 14:37

Fantastic

My first time 'in public' was with my NCT group too, after that it was anywhere DS needed feeding.
