Any suggestions on a formula for me to try with my baby please. He is 8 months old we are trying to get him to have formula but it has been a struggle . Have tried multiple bottles and cups not keen on any in particular so now wondering if he doesn’t like the formula taste. I know none will be as good as breast milk but I’m getting desperate, im a ftm , I’m back to work soon and haven’t had much success pumping. The mental load of the breastfeeding is getting on top of me, the lack of sleep, not being able to get help from anyone feeding wise, he’s got teeth now my nipples are becoming quite painful (brought me to tears this afternoon ) even just the suction from him without teeth is painful and we have always had a great latch going and no pain until recently. anyone had a similar situation? I went to all the breastfeeding classes available to me and they stressed if u give a bottle the baby won’t want breast cause it’s too much work but seems the other way around !!!!

we have tried kendamill and cow n gate already

At 8 months I was back at work full time and never gave formula, so I wouldn't worry too much if little one won't take any. I continued breastfeeding whilst working full time.

But it sounds like you perhaps want to phase out breastfeeding altogether, rather than just worrying about little one having milk when you're at work?

There are lots of resources on gently weaning, it may be worth just spending the next few months gearing up to fully weaning? After 12 months they won't need milk at all, if they are also having a varied, nutrient rich diet.

If you want to continue feeding, then check out someone like Emma Pickett IBCLC, she has loads of useful advice on feeding older babies.

The formulas are pretty similar to be honest, but they are very different to breast milk.

Does he have expressed breast milk in a bottle? If so, you can mix in 1oz of formula to start with, and then gradually increase the proportion of formula so he gets used to the taste instead of just refusing it completely.
