V close friend has just had long-awaited first baby. She wants v much to bf, but is finding it v painful and as she had a horrendous birth experience she is quite shattered by it all. Was wondering if a bfeeding counsellor might be able to help - anyone know of one?

Ok, there's Boobalicious, that's only Thursday mornings, though.

There's Brighton Breastfeeding Drop in], that's Tuesdays.

Here's a list of bf support groups, there are some phone numbers attached.

I don't think it would be good for her to wait until Tuesday to get some support - so her other option is to call the support lines (LLL/NCT/BFN/ABM) and see what she can find, locally ...

Thanks NQC, that's great. I'm going to get some of the phone numbers to her - she is utterly overwhelmed and def not up to looking them up herself.

If you were feeling energetic, you could try ringing the support lines. Just a sec, I'll get you some numbers.

BFN: 0844 412 4664

NCT: 0870 444 8708

LLL: 0845 120 2918

ABM: 08444 122 949

These organisations are all (from what I know) equivalent, but if you live near her and try phoning all those numbers, you can find out which group has supporters near her ... of course I just realised you probably don't live near her ...
