Is DS feeding enough (Bottle-fed)

Ds is 5 months old and is on Aptamil extra hungry. This is a rough guide to his feeds

7.30 am - 6-7oz
11.30 am - 7-8oz
3.30 pm - 7-8oz
7.30 pm - 7-8oz

W used to wake him at 11.30pm for a dream feed which he would readily take but a few days ago we decided to stop waking him and see if and when he woke of his own accord and he didn't!! So now he sleeps about 11 hours ish through the night and takes about27-32oz in 24hours...is this enough or should I start waking him again for a dream feed? Not attempting to wean til 6 months old.

Ok, here's my thoughts.. if you read the box what is the bottle guideline of how many bottles with oz baby should have? My ds at 5mths is on aptamil blue box, x5 bottles of 7oz (more like 8 with powder in) occassionly he has more like x4 bottles worth in 24hrs and he remains content then we up it again to 5 bottles when he shows signs of wanting more.

Like your ds mine sleeps well too, but I would not be concerned if he appears to be content and growing, the guidelines are just that just a guideline, so I personally wouldn't wake him for a feed unless he starts to wake for it

Sounds plenty to me. My DS is 4 months and on the Aptamil 1st milk.
He has 4 bottles a day usually about 4oz each and then one in the night.
As and when he wants more I will give him more.

I think ifhe was hungry at night he would wake up for a feed, dd1 had a lot less
than this in 24 hours, but stayed on her centile line and slept through. Dd2 had tons more than this, stayed on her centile line and woke in the night until a little while ago (she is 1). They are all different, and if he seems happy, is putting on weight and sleeping well then I'm sure you are feeding him enough.

BTW I think we stopped the dream feed at roughly this age too, I guess if he starts waking in the night you could start it again.

Sounds fine to me too, I would not wake a baby to feed them at night!

Ds was having 4 x 9oz bottles a day at this age and not waking in the night, he was always a big milk drinker though and a big baby. I started to wean at 5.5 months.
Remember these 'guides' on formula are just that - 'guides'!

Thank you all! Think I was after reassurance really. I suppose I'm very lucky that he will sleep through and he has no weight issues either. Will continue as we are and as a few of you have said, if he wants more, he'll ask for it!
