Bed time bottles for toddlers

I know it's not a big thing, but we're trying to get DD (2.5) off her night time bottle of milk which she has before during bed (and usually ends up taking into bed to finish off after stories). I guess we're doing it because it has to happen at some time and it's better for her teeth to drink from a cup (like she does normally). She, on the other hand, really loves it - mainly as a comforter rather than for the milk content.

Just curious. By what age did other people's kids drop their bottles and is there any recommended age by which they should?

my dd - same age - is doing exactly the same thing. But i've decided to leave it for now. apparently as long as you brush their teeth well, its ok.

Thanks. Yes, she brushes her teeth before bed, but then often ends up taking the bottle to bed with her. Guess the best thing to do is probably just leave it for the moment.

That's my (lazy mum) approach. I'm sure she won't be doing it at 18...
