Infant Gaviscon

Hi all

Looking for a little advice, my 1 month old has been prescribed infant Gaviscon sachets.

I am exclusively breastfeeding and the instructions say to mix one sachet with 15ml of cooled boiled water (5ml to form paste then add 10ml) and feed via syringe or spoon.

When I add 5ml it's nothing like a paste just water really, should cooled boiled water be cold? Or still warm for the powder to react correctly?

I just seem to be feeding him pure water from what I can tell. I know it has the medicine in but it's not thick at all.

Only used it once but don't want to be giving it to him incorrectly.

Are you using the full sachet? It's been a whirl but it shouldn't be just like pure water. Patronising I know but are yo definitely using only 5ml of water to begin with? Tsp not tbsp

How are things going today @Rhys136?

Is the Gaviscon helping?

My daughter was on gaviscon from 6 weeks to 5.5y, as long as it's in solution it's fine, slightly warm water helps to get it in solution, around body temperature.
It goes a bit like a thin sugar solution. Make sure you fully empty the sachet, don't just cut a corner off open it up completely.
