12 week old trenches

So my baby is 12 weeks today. He used to drink between 5/6oz every 3 and a half to 4 hours. He was draining his bottles. Now he’s constantly got his hands in his mouth and will only take between 3-4.5oz every 3/4 hours. He is also waking more at night time. Any suggestions what this could be? I don’t want him to start losing weight 😭

Ah yes this is where they can start seeing better and get distracted feeding. I used to have to bring DS into a boring dark room to get him to focus!

You might need a new, faster teat so he can drain the bottle faster. Bottle chewing here normally means time to go up a teat size (we use Dr Brown's which come in all different speeds) or teeth. You're still a bit early for teeth though

He currently has flow 1 teats, do you think I should try flow 2? I use tommee tippee bottles at the moment.

Give it a try. Don't hold the bottle vertical until he's used to it otherwise he'll get a face full of milk. I reckon he'll go glug glug glug.

Eta: We're a bit further on and are currently at the what fun it is to throw my bottle at daddy stage! I pump and breastfeed, so bottles are only with daddy and at nursery.

oh dear..I have that stage to come! He already tries to hold his bottle up and will knock it out of his mouth when he’s had enough!!🤣
