Formula feeding

My almost 7 week baby only takes 2oz sometimes 3 oz every 2 hours any advice to up the take and longer the feed time especially at night i try give more refuses the bottle i burp half way through also a dody doesn’t help longer the feed time either on a night he literally wakes screaming for the feed can even have 1 oz and fall back asleep wont take anymore

Is he hungry for more? Have you tried a faster flow teat?

I had a snacky eater and it’s really frustrating as it feels like you’re feeding all the time! End
up wasting loads. When he’s older you’ll be able to distract him with playtime and then he’ll be able to go longer and eat more.

Sorry, just to add that he might just be wanting comfort rather than actually hungry so could eke out with a dummy and a cuddle

@Overthemoun he seems hungry after the 2 hours he screams and grunts and as soon as bottles in he gulps like he’s never been fed. Yes iv tried faster teats it just spills out everywhere also iv tried holding out with comfort he just goes mad gets that stressed he sweats from his head I’m running out of ideas and its getting exhausting all i do is make bottles fed burp repeat all day & night

Have you thought about silent reflux? Some babies cry for milk to soothe it but then can’t actually manage a more substantial bottle when it arrives because of symptoms. I’d go to GP for this. Hope you’re ok- sounds tough

is he sicky? A gp or health visitor visit might be a good idea.
