Hi all,

First time mum of a 3.5 month old.
He’s formula fed.

Current routine
7:30am Feed 1 (this is generally when he wakes up)
11am Feed 2
2:30pm Feed 3
5:30pm Feed 4
8:30pm Feed 5 (then we put him to bed 9pm)
11:30pm Feed 6 (we wake him for this)

He is on 5oz per feed so 30oz per day. He’s sometimes still wanting more, so thought of 6oz, but I’ve read they should have no more than 32oz total per day no matter how much they weigh.

I’ve also been told from 4 months bed time should be earlier. But how would this work with his feeds?

Am I supposed to drop the 11:30pm and go to 6oz 5x per day so he’s still on 30oz?

But then what do I do about his 8:30pm feed and bedtime? If I shift bedtime earlier his last feed will be too close to his 5:30pm and he most likely won’t finish it or be sick.

we’ve been thinking initially to drop 11:30pm feed, but go to 6oz per feed so he’s still on 30oz, and keep his bedtime at 9pm in the hope he sleeps until 7:30am?

I’m so confused by it all and it’s stressing me out that I’m doing something wrong!

we’ve been going by the 150ml per kilo rule for weight vs formula, but then I read about the max 32oz in 24 hours!?

Where have you read about a maximum of 32oz as it sounds like nonsense to me?. Feed to appetite and have whatever bedtime suits you. Stop overthinking and do what works for you and your baby
