question about baby bottles by grandmother

Does anyone know if anyone makes a wide necked bottle that has a travel lid that screws on to the top of the bottle so its like a jar but lid doesnt have a hole in the middle where the teat goes....does that make sense?

Being a loon especially a helpful loon can y'know be fun

sully you need avent baby bottles 4oz or 8oz with screw top lids and avent sealing disks

I think you buy the disks on their own, the bottles will come with the screw tops and probably newborn teats

Yurtgirl · 17/06/2008 22:18

Wow thats a good deal - the second one
four small bottles plus disks and teats for only £4.49 plus p&p.

I think thats a bargain sully

Do you get the feeling that slightlymadsweet and I know more than is good for us about Avent products. We are thinking as one

SlightlyMadSweet · 17/06/2008 22:19

put it this way I had twins on avent bottles for 9m+ so I know more than I should

NorthernLurker · 17/06/2008 22:20

Can I just say that I think this is a lovely thread to read through - interesting problem for the op and lots of clever women turning their thoughts to it - it's heartwarming stuff - especially after the grumpiness I've seen elsewhere on mnet today!

sullysmum · 17/06/2008 22:20

Thankyou very much for your help............just loked on the ebay links and on one it says avent breast milk containers, do you know what they look like as there isnt a picture?

GreenMonkies · 17/06/2008 22:23

the breast milk containers are the viaos or what ever they are called. you want a baby bottle. I can also concur that the sealing disks snap into place and don't move or leak, I use them all the time to take rice milk to nursery for DD2.

Sawyer64 · 17/06/2008 22:23

Sorry that didnt work properly, but see message above, and you'll see what I'm trying to show you!

sullysmum · 17/06/2008 22:23

Slightlymad and yurt, you know about avent and twins, if ever you need to know about chihuahuas...

Northern lurker, thankyou for kind remarks.

OP posts:
SlightlyMadSweet · 17/06/2008 22:24

Not sure.

Avent do a "Via" system which are breastmilk containers. That is what I first suggested - but they will be too shallow for your needs.

They may just be the disks we are talking about. I would probably go for the one in my second link. As Sully says it is a v v good price - but is obviously used, and is probably more than yopu want.
I don't think you will get cheaper for the bits you do want.

Olihan · 17/06/2008 22:26

Sealing disks or complete storage bottles both from Toys R Us. You can get single 4oz bottles in Tescos and the like but I can't see them on the TRU website at the mo.

SlightlyMadSweet · 17/06/2008 22:34

Just looking on Tesco you can get 1 40z bottle (will this be big enough or will you want 8oz?) for £4.25.

So with the sealing disks at £2.99 from Toys r us it would be cheaper than that one on ebay if you only need 1 bottle and wanted new.

sullysmum · 17/06/2008 22:36

SMS thanks about the breastmilk pots, wont go there then.
Sawyer cant find the milkshake drinks to look at?
Olihan the storage bottles look good in the picture, wonder if i can just get one are they the same as a baby bottle? Getting out of my depth here been too long.

green monkey thanks and anyone ive forgotten.

sullysmum · 17/06/2008 22:38

Just realised its toys r us we havent got one in my town.

OP posts:
sullysmum · 17/06/2008 22:39

Take a stroll down the Milk aisle of your local Tesco/Asda/Sainsburys etc. You'll see Ready made Milkshake for kids,or Yoghurt-type drinks,or small bottles of orange Juice, you might see one that suits, they are screw top and reusable, some are quite wide.

SlightlyMadSweet · 17/06/2008 22:42

They are the same bottle and ring but have no cap and teat. They have the disk instead.

The other alternatives (as I see them) are:

The ebay £7.50 for the set I linked - has everything you want, but used
Tescos £4.25 for 1 bottle + toys r us for 6 sealing disks = £7.25.

With either of these you would have the dome cap in case you want to use that as a dish. With Olihans set of 4 you don't get this.

Now I really must go and finished sewing buttons on school dresses for tomorrow. I hope you get what you need.

SlightlyMadSweet · 17/06/2008 22:43

You should be able to get them in boots/pharmacies/mothercare too. I doesn't have to be TRU

missblythe · 17/06/2008 22:45

Sullysmum,

Can you CAT me your address, or give me your email address?

Will pop a spare Avent bottle, plus disc in the post for you in the morning if you like, then you can try before you buy.

Olihan · 17/06/2008 22:45

Sullysmum, They are exactly the same as the ordinary bottles, they just come with the disks, rather than teats.

sullysmum · 17/06/2008 22:56

Ive just put a picture of my girls in my photos.but when i click on my name its not there?

Gosh,Miss blythe that is really kind of you thankyou very much.
