11 month old drinking 12oz a day

My 11 month old daughter use to drink 18-20oz a day and eat well most days then she caught a bug and since then I cannot get her to drink her milk and she’s reduced how much she’s eating too. Since Thursday we’ve have days of 10oz, 13oz and 12oz. I’d be less worried if she was eating 3 meals but she’s really gone off her food too. She’s only drank 3oz before bed and gone to sleep, anyone else’s babies gone through this? Is it teething? Stressed mummy over here 🫠

Illness can knock kids off their food and milk
offer little and often - their favourites, ice lollies and watery fruits and veg like cucumber and melons etc
water and milk plus food
it can take a while for their appetites to recover
as long as they are alert and having wet and dirty nappies etc I wouldn’t worry too much

Thank you for offering some reassurance🫶🏻 her nappies have been wet which I know helps, she’s pooed 3 times today but it’s been little bits and more solid so maybe she’s backed up a bit 😅 I just worry she’s not getting enough nutrients and hydration 🫠 she drinks a fair bit of water thankfully

The recommended amount between 10 and 12 months is 13.5 Floz so she’s only had just a little under that.

Has she seen the GP wheb she had her big and did they check her ears and throat?

My dd only really wanted one bottle per day (before bed) at 11 months old. She ate three meals a day at this age. Your dd has been ill and lots of people don’t want to eat when they have a bug.

Also, will she pick up a bit of you have given her some Calpol?

Yea she’s been to the gp and they said she’s not dehydrated and she’s all good physically. When I offer her solids she’s eating some but seems to be putting most in her mouth and then spitting it back out. She’s not really eating 3 full meals a day now more just 2 and some snacks

Really don't worry, she's just not hungry, same as adults when we're unwell. She's clearly hydrated so I don't know why you bothered the GP. Even if she was eating nothing for a few days, it doesn't matter.

It’s fine. She’s eating and she’s not dehydrated. Once she feels a bit better her appetite will pick up again Smile
