Stopping breastfeeding

I stopped breastfeeding my 1 year old daughter 2 weeks ago completely. But we had massively cut down before that and were just doing overnight feeds for about 2 weeks (1-2 feeds per night). The trouble is, whilst she has adjusted brilliantly and isn't asking for it at all, I'm still super engorged, lumpy and leaking. I just hand expressed in the shower and milk was shooting out of both breasts like a hose!!

This never happened with my first daughter, as soon as I stopped feeding I was mildly uncomfortable and then it dried up within about 5-7 days.

Is this normal? Should I contact the GP?

In case this is helpful info, I had a biopsy on the breast that is the most full on 11th Jan for what they think is coagulatedilk that's worked its way into my breast tissue 🫠 and I just got my first pp period, which I assumed was because I stopped feeding...

I can’t remember being like that @Ontheflipside, I think after 2 weeks my boobs had settled yp their new size.

Have you given one of the BFing Helplines a call to see if the BFC has any tips?

I had to stop feeding my eldest due to emergency surgery. It took about 5 weeks for my supply to dry up.
