Breastfeeding - silver cups - what am I doing wrong!

I have read such good things about the silver cups. My nipples are not majorly cracked but I got these to help. I’ve been wearing them all day and took them off and find the areas where it’s cracked are so moist and look to be a bit oozy with puss or milk or white stuff (I’m at the doctor to get their thoughts). Even before this I felt it always just kept my nipple moist so it would never heal. Is this just me? Do I need to persevere? It’s not making them worse but just can’t see it helping either!

Get MultiMam compresses. They're amazing. Alternatively rub some breast milk into the cracks and leave to air dry.

Sorry, you asked about silver cups but I don't know anything about them!

Yeah that's the issue with them. The skin gets so moist it's incredibly fragile so then gets damaged more easily. I think they are probably good if you are stopping feeding so no extra damage, but not for actually breastfeeding.

My midwife told me not to wear them for long periods of time as it will cause thrush or sth else because the skin stays moist and can't breathe.
