Reintroducing formula for suspected CMPI?

Baby is combi fed and is suspected to have CMPI. I have been dairy free and she has been on partially hydrolysed formula for 4 weeks with some improvement. Prior to diagnosis she was on Kendamil for the formula. When we reintroduce dairy to test the diagnosis should we use the same formula or a different one in case it was just Kendamil that was disagreeing with her?

Have you been told to reintroduce dairy? We saw a dietician and allergy nurse who told me to stick with dairy free until 1, and introduce all other food allergens first.

I’d probably stick with the same formula you were using before, though, so you’re comparing like for like. But I see your point about trying something new. I’d check with a health visitor or GP.

Why is it that you want to reintroduce Dairy @wishIwasonholiday10?

Normally the Milk Ladder is only done after 12 months and with the supervision of a Paediatric Dietitian.

My GP told me I will need to reintroduce dairy to confirm the diagnosis of CMPA. I don’t plan to actually do it until discussing with the dietitian. We are now 4 weeks dairy free so won’t be doing it yet. In the last few days her symptoms have returned anyway so will probably need to try the fully hydrolysed formula.

Ive got a 17 month old & 9wk old both with CMPA.
With my oldest, the GP advised us to introduce dairy again after being DF for 3/4 weeks to "double check" there was an issue with it. Another GP has told me again to do it with my baby.

I didn't and won't be doing it. Their symptoms had started to clear up (it takes 6 weeks fully) so I wasn't going to upset their tummies again by having dairy!

In my area you can’t get a dieticians referral unless you’ve said you’ve reintroduced and symptoms returned….it’s one of the criteria for eligibility….of course it’s only your word so there’s no proof you’ve actually done it
