SMA Recalled Formula - Baby Ill

Hi, first time posting on here!

Has anyone’s baby been ill after having some of the recent recalled batches of SMA? We gave our little one two bottles on Monday eve and one on Tuesday morning before seeing the news and stopping feeding it straight away. Baby then vomited and had diarrhoea twice Tuesday night and we took them to A&E as seemed very ill. They were coughing and choking on spit before being sick like how your mouth fills up
with bile before being sick, so we knew it wasn’t a normal sick up. Baby has not been sick since this morning at around 1am and had a bit of food, seems to be keeping it down at the moment just very sleepy.

Has anyone else been the same? It’s hard to tell if it is the formula but it seems to be too much of a coincidence…baby is nearly 5 months and this is the first time they have been ill, not a sicky baby at all.

Need to try and figure out if we can have our batch of formula tested but I’m not sure how to do that!

xxx

You will need to contact your local council environmental health department

The batch numbers are here : https://www.smahcp.co.uk/product-recall-notice which will be on the container or packaging.

Have you checked if your batch number is affected?

Songbird10 · 07/01/2026 14:09

Thanks guys, I should have said the three bottles are from a contaminated batch number! Clearly the lack of sleep last night is setting in 🤦🏼‍♀️ xx

Is the baby still in hospital? Have you reported this to environmental health and the number on the recall sheet? They might be able to give further information

How are they now @Songbird10?

Thanks for your messages 😘 we are back home and not vomited since weds morning but still some diarrhoea. I’ve reported it to nestle and they’re going to be in touch about testing the batch so fingers crossed we can get some answers! 🤞
